    Q.1 I already have a hosting plan with VP Hosts. How can I activate Shoutcast Admin Pro in cPanel?

    All existing VP Hosts customers can access Shoutcast Admin Pro by upgrading your account. Monthly fee for the Shoutcast server is only $10.00. This account then uses your existing bandwith allotment. CLICK HERE TO ADD SHOUTCAST ADMIN PRO TO YOUR CPANEL AND START BROADCASTING.

    Q.1 Do I need a license for my radio station?

    You do not need a license to broadcast on the web, however you are responisible for paying royalty fees for some material by any ASCAP, BMI, SoundExchange or SESAC artists. LoudCity offers a blanket payment at discounted rates that should keep you legal.

    Q.2 What is Shoutcast?

    Shoucast is a free audio streaming techmology by Nullsoft. The Shoutcast server uses mp3 encoding of audio content to broadcast Internet radio over the web.

    Q.3 What bitrate should I broadcast at?

    Bitrate is the amount of data that is sent to each listener when you are broadcasting. The higher the bitrate the better the sound but at the expense of using more bandwith. Music requires a higher bitrate than just talk for a quality sound. This is a personal preference for you and your listeners. 64 Kbps offers reasonable sound quality, where as 128 Kbps is amazing but more expensive in resource usuage.
